Ceremony marking Slovenia’s 30 years held in Brussels

Brussels – A short ceremony was held in Brussels on Wednesday to mark the 30th anniversary of Slovenia’s independence. Among the attendees were MEPs from Slovenia and both Slovenian ambassadors in Brussels. Officials pointed to the path Slovenia has walked in the 30 years and the challenges ahead, especially the EU presidency in the second half of the year.

EU Parliament Will Send Mission to Bulgaria after US "Magnitsky" Sanctions

The monitoring group at the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) in the European Parliament will send its mission to Bulgaria, the European Parliament told BNR.

The decision was made yesterday at a closed-door meeting of the group and is expected to be confirmed by a written procedure today.

Tomc, Zver, Bogovič did not back changes to EPP rules of procedures

Brussels – Three of Slovenia’s four MEPs from the European People’s Party (EPP) did not back changes to the rules of procedure allowing the European People’s Party (EPP) to suspend or exclude a member party from its ranks. Ljudmila Novak, the fourth Slovenian EPP MEP, voted for the changes, having been one of its proponents.

Brexit: MEPs are Concerned about Citizens' Rights

MEPs confirmed to Horizon the European Parliament's readiness to approve the Brexit Agreement on January 29th. This is expected to happen at a parliament session in Brussels.

The deal was approved by the British Parliament on January 10th. Under the terms of the agreement, Britain is due to leave the EU on January 31st.
