Turkish aid organizations on Sept. 8 reached out to thousands of families affected by flash floods in the north of Sudan's capital
Khartoum.

Sudan's top general was sworn in on Aug. 21 as the leader of a joint military-civilian body created to rule Sudan during a three-year transition period toward democratic elections.

Ankara's support to Sudan and "brotherly" Sudanese people will continue to grow, Turkish foreign minister on Aug. 17 said. 

This represents a drop of 16% compared to 2010. The decrease is due to effective measures in Eastern and South Africa, according to a UN report.

Dozens of African migrants capsized off the coast of Tunisia on July 3after setting off by boat for Europe from Libya, a government source and the Tunisian Red Crescent said.

At least 50 migrants drowned on May 10 when their boat capsized in the Mediterranean Sea off the Tunisian coast after they had left Libya hoping to reach Europe, the United Nations migration agency said.

Turkey denied reports on April 26 claiming an agreement had been cancelled with Sudan on restoring Ottoman era artifacts on a Red Sea island.

Sudan's ruling Transitional Military Council (TMC) warned on April 22 against protestors blocking roads and limiting the movement of citizens as protests continued after president Omar al-Bashir was forced from power.
