Turkey's state of emergency decrees are unlawful: Turkish Bar Association head

Turkey's state of emergency decrees are unlawful, Union of Turkish Bar Associations (TTB) head Metin Feyzioğlu has said, as the government continues to impose sweeping post-coup attempt measures.

"What's being done is unlawful and neglectful," Feyzioğlu told journalists on Oct. 30, saying parliament is being "ignored with the state of emergency decrees."

CHP publishes stamp to mark anniversary

The main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) has prepared a stamp to mark the 93rd anniversary of the foundation of the party depicting the party's symbol and CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. The preparation of the stamp also carried special meaning for party leader Kılıçdaroğlu, who is known to own a stamp collection and was surprised by the commemorative stamp. 

CHP slams detention of academics over petition calling an end to operations

The main opposition party has strongly criticized a wave of detentions on academics who signed a petition calling upon the government to end military operations in the east and southeastern parts of the country, arguing the move came from President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an's instructions to the judiciary.
