Serbian Soldiers Quitting Over Pay and Conditions, Report
Low pay, negative selection in promotion, poor working conditions and the lack of training and development are prompting many staff to quit the defence ministry and the military in Serbia, a new report by the Belgrade Centre for Security Policy says.
Tensions rise outside ministry during protest rally
Riot police forces intervened outside the Labor Ministry in central Athens when a group of hotel industry employees taking part in a rally attempted to enter the building on Tuesday. There were no reports of injuries or arrests.
The rally was organized by the union of employees working in tourism, hotels and catering companies in Athens in protest to changes in their pension scheme.

Greek pensioners have organized a protest rally for the new bill on pensions and social security reforms that the government proposes.
Many pensioners are protesting outside the Ministry of Labour asking the government not to proceed to further pension cuts and to restore the pensions demanding also access to free health system to be able to leave with dignity.

BELGRADE - Representatives of the Association of Pensioners called on the Serbian parliament and the Constitutional Court on Wednesday to declare the decision about pension cuts as unconstitutional.
