Gov't to go after priests flouting quarantine

The government has asked for a prosecutor to press charges against two priests who provided communion to the faithful Sunday despite a ban on church attendance.

Parliament to hear ministers-designate Tuesday, Wednesday; convene in joint plenary session next Monday

In a joint session on Monday, Parliament's standing bureaus decided that the ministers-designate of the Orban Cabinet will be heard for confirmation on Tuesday and Wednesday, while next Monday a joint plenary session will be held in which to vote on the new cabinet.

Some wrong moves

During its first few weeks in power, Greece's conservative government has already introduced a number of appropriate measures, it has sent out a few right signals and has, by and large, made good appointments.
The new administration, naturally, still needs to hit its stride. And, inevitably, some mistakes will be made along the way. In fact, some have been made already.

The change we need

The civil sector needs to be restaffed with capable people who do not rely on political affiliations.
News of failed politicians and party hacks being appointed to management positions in the broader public sector is truly disappointing. This is not the example the new government wants to be setting.
