Prosecutors in Poland have said they have charged three Belarusian officials with using a ruse to divert a Poland-registered plane and thus violating the freedom of 132 people on board when in 2021 they ordered the plane carrying a dissident blogger to land in Minsk, leading to the arrest of Raman Pratasevich.

Poland hopes to bring in border guards and police from Finland, Germany and Greece to help patrol its frontier with Belarus, a senior official said on Thursday, amid mounting concerns over migration pressures from the east into Europe.

At today's meeting with the top officials of the Belarusian security agencies in Minsk, Lukashenko said that there is no country that can call itself safe.

Let us remind you that about a month ago, Finland decided to close its borders with Russia due to what they believe was a deliberate influx of migrants from Russia. Finland considers this to be Russia's revenge for its membership in NATO.

Far from being sealed, the so-called new Eastern Land Route, which came to the public's attention during the second half of 2021, appears to be very much active today, with migrants, activists and border guards settling into what one expert terms a "routinization" of their actions on this border.

He said that Minsk is working on the release of Belarusian citizens in Ukraine, reports Sputnik International.
"Belarus has conducted a special operation to free its truckers captured and detained in Ukraine," he said.

Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko said today that Minsk had absolutely no interest in war and that conflict could only erupt if Belarus or its close ally Russia were directly attacked, Reuters reported.

Thousands of migrants, mostly from the Middle East, have flocked to Europe after Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced in May that he was easing measures against those wishing to emigrate to the West.

Hundreds of migrants who were camped in the cold on the Poland-Belarus border have been moved to a nearby warehouse in Belarusian territory, reports said on Nov. 17, with some still harboring hopes of entering the European Union.
