10 to face trial on terrorism-related charges
Authorities have remanded six persons accused of terrorist acts Sunday after their statements to an examining magistrate in Thessaloniki in northern Greece.
They are accused of five terrorist acts, the last of which was mailing a parcel bomb to the chief judge of the Thessaloniki appeals court in February. The charges involve six felonies and five misdemeanors.

Scores of organized crime cases pending
Hundreds of organized crime trials have been left pending due to an abstention of lawyers that lasted for two years owing to their opposition to a provision in the Penal Code passed in 2020.
The provision in question set out the criminal treatment of those convicted on misdemeanor or felony criminal organization charges, sparking the universal reaction by lawyers across the country.

Two arrests over Greek Mafia murders
Police authorities announce the arrest of two men for hits on two prominent members of the Greek underworld on Thursday. An Athens prosecutor indicted two ethnic Greeks from countries of the former Soviet Union, aged 39 and 21. They were charged with nine felonies and seven misdemeanors. A third person, who is allegedly connected to one of the suspects, was only charged with misdemeanors.

Parliament ratifies 4th judicial reform package, animal protection law
The Turkish Parliament on early July 9 approved a long-awaited Animal Protection Law amendment that aimed to protect animals from being abused by humans, changing the scope of the crime committed against animals.
