Premier of Victoria extends invitation to Greek PM for 2025 visit

Turkish top diplomat due in Athens for key talks

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will be in Athens on Nov. 8 to hold talks with Greek Foreign Minister Yorgo Gerapetritis amid growing ties between the two neighboring countries.

Talks between the two top diplomats will focus on bilateral relations and review the preparations of the Türkiye-Greece high-level cooperation council to be held in early 2025, according to diplomatic sources.

In a discussion heavily influenced by the American elections, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and President Katerina Sakellaropoulou reflected on the broader implications for Greek-American relations and European geopolitics.

Mitsotakis emphasized that, regardless of the outcome, the strategic nature of Greek-American relations would remain unchanged.

Elytis House Museum in Plaka officially opened

The Odysseus Elytis Museum honoring the late Greek Nobel Prize-winning poet was inaugurated by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Friday evening, in the presence of Culture Minister Lina Mendoni.

The Museum was inaugurated on the eve of the poet's birthday on November 2 (1911) in Iraklio, Crete. He died in 1996, aged 84.
