A probe by public administration officials into the death of a 13-year-old at a fairground in Elliniko, southern Athens, last month has highlighted serious shortfalls on the part of the local municipality, which was found to have rented out the site illegally.

A new wage structure for civil servants will be ready in September, Administrative Reform Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Tuesday.

The new scheme will contain financial incentives for public sector workers who meet productivity targets but will also mean wage reductions for some.

By the end of this week, the country’s Citizen Information Centers (KEP) will offer citizens several additional services as part of a drive to create an online connection between the national KEP network and a range of state bodies issuing official documents, Administrative Reform Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said Tuesday.
