Iran's foreign minister has complained to the United Nations about Saudi Arabia's "provocations" towards Tehran, as a diplomatic crisis between the region's two major powers entered its second week. 

Bulgaria can use Iran as a doorway into other markets to sell its goods there, Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov has said while on a two-day visit to Tehran.

Mitov made his comments after meetings with Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif and, later with the country's ministers of transportation and culture, Abbas Akhoundi and Ali Jannati, respectively.

Bulgarian Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov is in Tehran on Sunday and Monday, with options to deepen cooperation in energy and bring trade exchange to earlier levels set to top the agenda.

Mitov is to meet the country's President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday. The two will discuss possibilities for liquefied natural gas from Iran to reach Bulgaria via Georgia's Black Sea ports.

Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias will carry out a visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran on 29 and 30 November 2015, accompanied by Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Mardas, Deputy Industry Minister Theodora Tzakri, and a Greek business delegation.

The next meeting in Vienna on the Syrian conflict must draw up a list of "terrorist groups", Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Nov 9.

Iran will be invited to participate in talks in Vienna on Oct. 30 to discuss ending the conflict in Syria, a dialogue aimed at finding a framework for political transition in Damascus, the U.S. State Department said on Oct. 27. 

The United States announced Aug. 24 it has "no intention" to reopen an embassy in Tehran, just one day after the United Kingdom reopened its diplomatic mission in the Iranian capital.

Britain's foreign secretary reopened his country's embassy in Tehran on Aug. 23 in a long-awaited step signalling better relations four years after a mob stormed the compound, forcing its closure.

The foreign ministers of Russia and Iran said after talks in Moscow that their two countries have a united position on Syria, with both diplomats warning against any outside attempt to dictate a resolution to the Syrian civil war.
     

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will visit Syria on August 12 and discuss a "new plan" by the Islamic republic to help resolve the conflict there, his spokeswoman said.
