Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean today instructed his government to begin preparations for possible nationalization of the Moldovagaz gas company, 50% of which is owned by Russian oil company Gazprom.

On December 15th, Moldova will introduce a state of emergency nationwide for a duration of 60 days due to concerns over a potential halt in Russian gas supplies starting January 1st.

Ukraine launched a drone attack on a Russian metal plant in a border region on Wednesday, causing a fire at a fuel tank, the local governor said.
