Moldovan wine

Moldovan wine exports registered a record year in 2019, with nine per cent more sent abroad than in 2018, according to the National Bureau of Vine and Wine.

Both the volume of Moldovan wine exports and their value were at the highest level recorded since 2014.

Moldova exported 156,674 million litres of wine in 2019, compared to 12,607 million litres in 2018.

Despite a Russian embargo, Moldova is making more money than ever from from exporting wine - one of the country's most important products.

The Turkish wine sector is suffering from marketing restrictions brought about by new alcohol regulations, as the country’s wine makers continue to lose ground against newcomers in the market such as Georgia, Moldova and Israel.

Bulgarian Chardonnays and Cabernet Sauvignon wines proved most popular among conossieurs and consumers at the international wine exhibition Vinaria in Plovdiv. 

It is being organised by the Bulgarian Wine and Vine Growers' Association since 1999.
