No injuries, limited damages from Athens quake
Two old buildings reportedly collapsed in two districts of Athens but there were no reports of any serious injuries after the 5.1-magnitude earthquake that hit Athens on Friday afternoon, Greek authorities said.

Heavily-armed police to monitor busy tourist spots
Heavily-armed police officers are being stationed at key points of the capital, notably busy tourist spots, from Thursday in a bid to boost security.
The officers, whose ranks are to be boosted over the coming months, are being deployed in line with measures in European cities to avert possible crimes and terrorist attacks, Skai television reported.

Power grid damage to cause traffic diversions in central Athens
Motorists in downtown Athens are advised to avoid Syntagma Square on Sunday and Monday evening, due to works that will be carried on the power supply network.
Network operator DEDDIE will be closing the stretch of Karagiorgis Servias Street from Syntagma Square to Voulis, which will also be closed between Mitropoleos to Karageorgis Servias.

Athens center set for cleanup
The City of Athens announced Monday that it has launched a cleanup project to rid building facades in the capital's so-called historic triangle of ugly graffiti, posters and other blemishes. The project is being funded by donations from the private sector.
