Three-month interbank offered rate rises to 3.18 ppa
Romania's three-month interbank offered rate ROBOR rose on Tuesday to 3.18 ppa, from 3.16 ppa, on Monday, according to data published by the National Bank of Romania (BNR). At the beginning of last year, the three-month ROBOR was 2.99 per year, and at the end of the year 2.18 pct. On the same day of 2019, the index stood at 2.20 per year.
First subsidies to borrowers paid out
At the very end of 2019 the state paid the first four subsidy tranches of mortgage loans for as many borrowers who have had their bank debt repayments arranged through the online platform of the Special Secretariat for Private Debt.

Debtors show keener interest in protection applications
The online platform of the Special Secretariat for Public Debt has seen a 65 percent spike in applications by borrowers for the protection of their primary residences in the last month.
Greece's bad bank liquidator sells 1 bln euro loan portfolio to Intrum Hellas
PQH, the liquidator for bad banks in Greece, has signed a deal to sell a 1 billion euro ($1.11 billion) portfolio of unsecured impaired loans to loan servicer Intrum Hellas, it said on Friday.
The deal was agreed at a price of 71.1 million euros, meaning PQH will receive 7 percent of the outstanding principal.
Iconic Antalya hotel put up for sale
A luxury hotel with 553 rooms and 1,209 beds in the resort town of Kemer will be auctioned for a minimum value of 144 million Turkish Liras (nearly $24.4 million).
The appraised value of the property, which also includes thousands of trees and ornamental plants, is twice as much of the minimum auction value, according to a report prepared as part of a foreclosure decree.

Taxes are set to ease further from next year

Greece sells 3-month T-bills at negative yield
Greece sold 488 million euros ($535.82 million) of three-month treasury bills to refinance a maturing issue with the yield turning negative for the first time ever, the country's debt agency PDMA said on Wednesday.
The debt agency sold the new paper at a yield of -0.02 percent, down from 0.095 percent, in a previous sale in August.

Brussels clears Greece’s home protection scheme
The European Commission has approved Greece's home protection scheme, which supports householders who cannot meet mortgage payments and are at risk of losing their primary residence.
The Commission said on Thursday the scheme did not violate state aid rules.
