CHISINAU - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met on Thursday in Chisinau with EU foreign policy and security chief Josep Borrell, noting that a return to dialogue by Pristina institutions and putting an end to their violence were a priority.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic told media on Thursday that he had "begged" locals in the north of Kosovo, protesting for the fourth day in a row in front of municipal buildings in the Serb-dominated area, "in their determination to persevere in the fight for law and justice, to do so always, above all, in relation to KFOR, in a peaceful way".

BELGRADE - Serbian FM Ivica Dacic said on Thursday the Serbian leadership had reacted "sternly, swiftly and well" to complex developments in the north of Kosovo-Metohija.

He said restoring the situation from before the recent local elections held by Pristina in the north of the province was the only way of de-escalation.

Two months later, the treatment had ravaged his immune system.

Fearing for his life, Rron's family in the town of Vushtrri/Vucitrn, north of the Kosovo capital Pristina, sent him to neighbouring North Macedonia for a second opinion.

Russia and France have unequivocally pointed to Kosovo as responsible for the tensions and clashes outside town halls in several predominantly Serb towns following Washington's crackdown on Pristina.

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - The director of the Kosovska Mitrovica hospital, Zlatan Elek, said on Wednesday a 58-year-old Serb man wounded in Monday's clashes in Zvecan, a Serb-majority municipality in the north of Kosovo-Metohija, was in critical condition and remained in intensive care.

ZVECAN - Thousands of peaceful protesters gathered outside the municipal building in Zvecan, a Serb-majority town in the north of Kosovo-Metohija, on Wednesday and rolled out a 250-metre-long Serbian flag, a Tanjug reporter on the ground said.

In a speech, former Zvecan mayor Srdjan Milosavljevic called for peaceful protests and urged the protesters not to attack Kfor troops.

BELGRADE - Serbian Defence Minister Milos Vucevic said on Wednesday the security situation in the north of Kosovo-Metohija was highly risky as a result of unilateral, illegal and illegitimate decisions by the Pristina administration.

The US ambassador to Pristina, Jeffrey Hovenier, said on Tuesday that Washington will apply sanctions after the previous day's unrest in northern Kosovo, which saw 30 NATO troops from the KFOR peacekeeping mission injured in violent clashes with protesting Serbs.

In the municipalities of Zubin Potok, Zvean and Leposavi, there were no incidents during the night, and the number of KFOR members was increased.
