The Museum of Innocence

Nobel Prize winner Orhan Pamuk has attempted to demolish the house he is living in within the scope of an urban transformation project, but the angered neighbors have accused him of having a "hidden agenda" to build a museum instead.

Orhan Pamuk, a prominent novelist and Turkey's first Nobel laureate, has tied the knot with Aslı Akyavaş, with whom he has been together for nearly 10 years.

The couple's wedding ceremony was held at Beyoğlu Municipality's Office in presence of their close family members due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pamuk came up with the idea in 1990s to write a novel and to make a museum at the same time.

The physical manifestation of Turkish Nobel Laureate author Orhan Pamuk's "The Museum of Innocence," which was published in 2008, has opened at Somerset House's Courtyard Rooms in London. 

Exhibits from the Museum of Innocence, the award-winning Istanbul museum created by the Nobel Prize-winning novelist Orhan Pamuk in 2012, will go on show early next year at the Somerset House in London as part of a special display, the Art Newspaper has reported.

The 15th "Communicating the Museum," the world's leading conference in museum communications, has started in Istanbul's Hagie Eirene Museum.

Turkish Nobel laureate novelist Orhan Pamuk has been named the recipient of this year's Erdal Öz Literary Prize. The prize is named after the late founder of the Can Publishing House and given to a writer who published a work in the last three years.
