Mustafa Kemal Atatürk

Photos of Atatürk’s mourning ceremony in Anatolia unveiled

Rare photographs from the official mourning ceremony in Anatolia for modern Türkiye founder Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, held on Nov. 21, 1938, have surfaced, showcasing the nation's profound collective grief.

The images were uncovered during archival research by Barış Bolat, director of the Atatürk and Çanakkale Wars Research Center (AÇASAM) at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (ÇOMU).

Setting the table again!

Early November has a distinct feel for the Turkish people. It is a time of solemnity and reflection, not just because of the fallen leaves or the typical autumn gloom, but because it evokes a deep sense of longing for the past.

Turkish tales in world languages

As part of the Edirne Municipality's Atatürk Cultural Center's Turkish Folktale Anthology Project (TÜMAK), the collection of Turkish tales — already available in German, English, French, Russian, Arabic, and Persian — will soon include translations in Japanese and Spanish by the end of the year.

The tales will continue to be shared worldwide through a mobile application.
