The environmental organization Green Balkans has registered an intriguing Bulgarian presence in the conflict zones of Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Odesa, where military clashes continue. However, this presence is not related to journalists, politicians, or any official figures but to a young golden eagle hatched in Bulgaria in 2023.

Overnight, Russian forces launched multiple groups of Shahed kamikaze drones towards western Ukraine, according to reports from the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This prompted an air alert in several regions across the western and southern parts of the country.

Ukrainian authorities reported that Russian forces attempted to breach the border with Ukraine using sabotage groups. Governor Oleg Sinegubov of the northeastern Kharkiv region revealed that the city of Vovchansk faced intensified shelling amid these attempts.

In a continuation of its military offensive against Ukraine, Russia conducted airstrikes on two energy sites in southern Ukraine, causing temporary power outages in the region. Ukrainian officials reported that the strikes targeted a substation in Mykolaiv and production facilities in the Odesa region.

Speaking to Espresso TV on Sunday, Tarasenko said it was "strange and confusing" to hear that some people doubted the need for another mobilization.

"The army is eagerly awaiting new reinforcements because the situation in many units is critical in terms of personnel," he explained.

One person was killed in Russian drone attacks on a port district in Ukraine's southwestern Odesa region early Wednesday, the regional governor said.

The night-time attacks lasted three hours and targeted the Izmail district, Oleg Kiper said on Telegram.

Ukraine's security service said Monday it had detained an informer accused of helping Russia plot an attack on President Volodymyr Zelensky as he visited a flood-hit region.

The SBU security service said the detained woman was gathering intelligence to try to find out Zelensky's itinerary ahead of his visit to the southern Mykolaiv region.

Russia struck the Ukrainian Black Sea city of Odesa again on Sunday, local officials said, keeping up a barrage of attacks that has damaged critical port infrastructure in southern Ukraine in the past week. At least one person was killed and 22 others wounded in the attack in the early hours.

Russian forces launched a major drone assault on Kiev overnight as well as attacking other regions, Ukrainian officials said early Tuesday, but there were no immediate reports of casualties.

"New massive air attack on the capital," wrote the Kiev City Military Administration, adding that it was the first attack on the city in 18 days to use Iranian-made Shahed explosive drones.
