Hundreds more migrants reach the Greek islands in boats and smaller vessels from Turkey
More than 450 migrants reached Greece's Aegean Sea islands in boats from Turkey in less than two days, Greek authorities said Thursday, including 51 people who made landfall on the high-end resort of Mykonos.
The new arrivals come amid a steady rise in migration to the European Union country, which officials mostly attribute to better summer sailing conditions.
Coast Guard locates 51 undocumented migrants on Mykonos, three traffickers arrested
The Hellenic Coast Guard apprehended 51 undocumented migrants (42 men, eight women, and a minor) who disembarked from a yacht on Mykonos' Agia Anna Beach on Wednesday afternoon.
The three passengers on the yacht were arrested when the undocumented migrants identified them as smugglers.
Mykonos: 58-year-old dies in sea accident
A 58-year-old man suffered fatal injuries while on board an auxiliary craft off Paraga beach on the island of Mykonos.
The incident unfolded when the vessel, helmed by a 23-year-old, collided with a rugged rock formation.

Despite projections for record revenue, there are signs visitor satisfaction is ebbing, especially in the saturated and overworked island destinations of Mykonos and Santorini, a European-wide survey shows. Mykonos hotels dropped prices in June and July by 7% compared to last year.
