5 Magnitude Earthquake on the Richter Scale Strikes Japan
A 5-magnitude earthquake was registered this morning east of the Japanese coast, according to the US Geological Survey.
The epicentre of the earthquake was 128 km east of Namie, Fukushima Prefecture. The depth was 8 km.
Minor Tsunami Hit Fukushima Coast After Strong Earthquake
Minor tsunami hit the northern Japanese coastline early Saturday, including in a city near the Fukushima nuclear plant, reports Japan Times.
It was caused by a strong 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck off the Pacific coast.There were no immediate reports of damage, however, and authorities lifted all advisories roughly two hours later.
