Turkish foreign minister meets Syrian opposition figures
Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on Sept. 9 met with Syrian opposition figures in the capital Ankara.
Çavuşoğlu met with Salem Al-Meslet, head of the National Coalition of Syrian Opposition; Anas Abdeh, president of the Syrian Negotiation Commission; and head of the Syrian Interim Government Abdurrahman Mustafa.
Turkey not deporting Syrians: Syrian National Coalition
There is no operation in Turkey targeting the deportation of Syrians who were forced to flee from violence, the National Coalition of Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces said in a written statement on Aug. 2.

Russia, US in row over coalition strikes on Syrian forces
Russia condemned on May 19 strikes by the U.S.-led coalition against Syrian forces as "unacceptable," state media reported, after the bombing of pro-government troops.
"Any military actions that lead to a deterioration in the situation in Syria obviously impact the political process," deputy foreign minister Gennady Gatilov was quoted as saying by state-run RIA Novosti in Geneva.
Israeli President: US Missile Strike on Syria 'Example to Free World'
Israeli President Reuven Rivlin called the US missile strike on an airfield in Syria's Homs province an "example to the entire free world."
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel supported the US missile attack on the airfield.
Kurds declare federal region in Syria's north: Officials
Syrian Kurds on March 17 declared a federal region in the country's north, officials told AFP, but both the government and an opposition coalition swiftly rejected the announcement.

Any peace plan for Syria allowing President Bashar al-Assad to stand in early elections after a transition period would be "mad" because he is the root of the problem and holding a nationwide poll is impossible, a Syrian opposition figure said.
The commander of a rebel group fighting on the ground echoed the comment.
