Some university staff to escape dismissal for now
Dozens of university administrative staff who had been placed in a labor pool last year and were expected to be laid off now are to remain in the reserve for another eight months, the Education Ministry has decided.

Universities face upheaval as staff to strike
Greek universities are in for a new spell of upheaval as administrative staff are to walk off the job from Tuesday as part of a two-day strike called by their national union to protest the imminent dismissal of colleagues as part of the governments civil service overhaul.

Student elections marred by violence
Only around half of Greek students voted in student elections on Wednesday as violence erupted at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), where one academic had to be taken to the hospital after a group of vandals burst into the institution, attacking property and people.
