The 49th Pantene Golden Butterfly Awards, the longest-running award ceremony that takes the pulse of the country's cinema, TV and music world, took place in Istanbul's Zorlu PSM on Dec. 3. Winners, selected by the public and jury votes, received their awards in various categories at the ceremony.

With buildings in the northern province of Artvin's Yusufeli district submerging in the waters of the newly built dam, the inhabitants of the old settlement are being evacuated for the seventh time in the history of the district.

The water levels continue to rise in Yusufeli, Türkiye's highest dam, where water retention processes started on Nov. 22 last year.

The Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (?KSV) announced that its events for the first half of 2015- the Istanbul Film, Music and Jazz Festivals- have concluded, while registering 224,000 viewers in the first seven months of this year.

Director Nuri Bilge Ceylan?s latest Palme d?Or-winning movie ?K?? Uykusu? (Winter Sleep) swept the board at the 47th Turkish Cinema Writers Association (S?YAD) awards, presented at Istanbul?s Cemal Re?it Rey Concert Hall on March 11.
