President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vui, addressed those present at the ceremony.
Vui first mentioned the late Patriarch Irinej: "I want to thank Patriarch very much for everything he has done for our people".
"In the previous eight years, we tried to raise Serbia from the ashes," said Vucic.

No one like Stefan Nemanja managed to unite Serbian lands and turn a remote Byzantine province into a powerful empire and a serious state, and without Nemanjic's endowments and Nemanjic's characters on frescoes, the Serbian people would have disappeared during Turkish slavery, says Selakovic, before the unveiling ceremony of the monument to Stefan Nemanja.
