Bodies of foreigners among 51 found in quake-hit Nepal

Police have found more than 50 bodies, including those of six foreigners, in Nepal's popular Langtang trekking region following last weekend's devastating earthquake, a senior local official said May 3.

Another 100 foreign tourists are still feared to be missing in Langtang in the wake of the 7.8-magnitude-quake that struck on April 25 and claimed more than 7,000 lives.

Death Toll Surpasses 6600 as Hope of Finding Survivors in Nepal Extinguishes

As the death toll reached 6621 people, the authorities in Nepal ruled out the possibility of finding any more survivors from the disastrous earthquake, which hit the country on April 25.

According to the latest official information, the number of people, who were injured in the earthquake, stood at 14 021.

Up to 250 Missing after New Avalanche Hits Nepal

A new avalanche in Rasuwa in Eastern Nepal has left up to 250 people missing, according to media sources.

An official is quoted by iTV News as saying the trekking area of Rasuwa in Nepal, north of the capital city Kathmandu, was hit by an avalanche on Tuesday afternoon (evening in Nepal).

The new avalanche has also been reported by the BBC.
