Netflix, UN team up for Africa talent hunt

Netflix has launched a project with the U.N.'s cultural body on Oct. 14 to hunt out young filmmakers from sub-Saharan Africa and explore traditional folktales from the region.

"African Folktales, Reimagined" teams the U.S. streaming giant with UNESCO to find six young directors to make a short film to be aired on Netflix next year.

Meghan Markle to make animated adventure series for Netflix

Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex and wife of Britain's Prince Harry, is to produce an animated adventure series for Netflix about a 12-year-old girl who is inspired by historical female figures, her production company said on July 14.

The couple signed a deal to produce content for the popular streaming platform after quitting their royal duties in Britain.

Golden Globes 2022 Canceled

The 2022 Golden Globe Awards have been canceled by NBC as the Hollywood Foreign Press Association tries to reform amid mounting controversy.
