Doctors: Increase of up to 20% in bonus payments for the 169 arid and problem areas
The Ministry of Health is attempting to fill significant gaps in medical staff in areas of mainland Greece and the islands, with the establishment of financial incentives for 169 points on the Greek map starting from 200 euros per month and reaching up to 600 euros, even exceeding 20% of doctors’ monthly salaries, depending on their grade, specialty and region of work.

Man took his own life while waiting for chemotherapy drug, family says
A cancer patient in the Cretan city of Iraklio took his own his life as he was unable to bear the pain while waiting for a chemotherapy drug, his family have said.
The family said that the 72-year-man suffered terribly while waiting for the medicine and his condition deteriorated, which he outlined in a note he had left for them.
Digital platform to reduce surgery waiting times
As part of the effort to reduce patients' waiting time for operations in Greece, the National Health Service (ESY) will on February 1 introduce a digital filing system for hospitals' scheduled surgeries and their order of priority.
