Spanish Police Charge Balkan Football Agent With Financial Crimes

Media reports say the manager of Serbian Real Madrid football player Luka Jovic, and his associates, have been charged with money laundering and offences against the public purse in Spain. 

Abdilgafar Fali Ramadani, the German-born Macedonian manager of Jovic, oversaw his transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt to Real Madrid for 60 million euros in 2019. 

A tête-à-tête meeting commenced at the Palace of Serbia

Prior to conducting a tête-à-tête meeting of the two presidents, the President of Armenia and the delegation that he heads, which includes Foreign Affairs Minister Artak Apitonyan and numerous businessmen, attended a ceremonial welcome in front of the Palace of Serbia, with the Guard of the Serbian Army, a red carpet and the sounding of the anthems of the two countries.

Gruevski sought asylum at Hungarian embassy outside FYROM

Ex prime minister of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia Nikola Gruevski has sought asylum at a Hungarian representation outside FYROM, Budapest said on Thursday, after he fled to Hungary earlier this week.

Gruevski, who resigned in 2016 after 10 years in power, left for Budapest six months after he was sentenced to two years in prison on corruption-related charges.

The Office of the Special Public Prosecutor in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia has opened an investigation into the selection of Greek construction company Aktor as the preferred bidder for the Demir Kapija-Smokvica highway project. Suspects include FYROM's ex-prime minister Nikola Gruevski and former transport minister Mile Janakieski.
