Two women were beaten by men, wearing masks on their faces in  Borisova Garden in Sofia.

According to initial data, the victims are notaries, reported bTV.

An accountant, a lawyer and four notaries stand accused of running a network in Athens that helped numerous undocumented migrants gain legal status in Greece through sham weddings and falsified paternity claims, police said Friday.

Thessaloniki notaries meeting on Tuesday decided to hold a new boycott on foreclosures running through October 1 due to ongoing protests that have targeted legal professionals at courthouses in the northern city and elsewhere.

Notaries who had been walking off the job every Wednesday when foreclosure auctions are usually held because of protest action that had been targeting them on Friday decided to call off their protracted action.

Properties are being sold at just a fraction of their "objective value" (the property price used for tax purposes), according to sale contracts uploaded on the Finance Ministry's online platform gsis.gr.

A software that allows new cars to be registered only with an ID card at a notary public will start working within two or three weeks. The documents processing procedure will be significantly relieved. This emerged on 16th of June from a working meeting at the Council of Ministers dedicated to the topic of reducing the administrative burden, reported BNT. 

The country's notaries are considering raising the debt threshold for property auctions with the aim of activating the measure which has more or less remained frozen for about 10 months due to the extended abstention of the sector's professionals.

The union representing the country's notaries issued a statement Thursday condemning the use of "thuggish tactics" by groups protesting foreclosures being carried out at Greek courts every Wednesday.

"The attempt... to intimidate us with thuggish tactics is unacceptable and will not pass," the union said without elaborating on the type of attacks its members have suffered.

They go to court every Wednesday, the day homeowners in default on mortgages lose their properties at auctions - the final step of foreclosure in a country where the government and its citizens are overwhelmed by debt.
