CIA director John Brennan gave a staunch defense of the framework nuclear deal with Iran on April 7, calling some criticism of the accord "disingenuous" while expressing surprise at Tehran's concessions.
      

US President Barack Obama has rejected a call by Israel for any nuclear agreement with Iran to be conditional on Tehran's recognition of the Jewish state's right to exist, branding it a "fundamental misjudgement".        

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on April 5 again denounced the agreement between Tehran and world powers as a "bad deal" that will strengthen Iran's military and leave it with a large nuclear infrastructure.
      

All United Nations Security Council resolutions related to Iran's nuclear programme will be lifted immediately if a final deal is agreed, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on April 4, stressing the benefits to Iran of this week's negotiations.

The EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini announced on Thursday that the basis for an agreement for a peaceful Iranian nuclear programme and a lifting of sanctions against Tehran has been reached.

"We have reached solutions on key parameters of a joint comprehensive plan of action," Mogherini said after eight days of talks in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Iran's defence minister has lambasted his US counterpart's comments about military options against Tehran still being on the table despite ongoing nuclear talks, saying they showed America cannot be trusted.
