BELGRADE - The governments of Serbia and North Macedonia signed on Friday in Belgrade three MoUs that will advance bilateral cooperation.

The documents were signed at a ceremony also attended by Serbian and North Macedonian PMs Ana Brnabic and Dimitar Kovacevski.

"I think that this is a provocation that does no good," said the Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovachevski, on the occasion of the protests yesterday at the opening of the Bulgarian club "Tsar Boris III" in Ohrid.

North Macedonia will start issuing new passports and IDs containing the country's new constitutional name "Republic of North Macedonia", starting July 1, Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski confirmed.

Macedonian President Stevo Pendarovski has declared a state of emergency throughout Northern Macedonia, BGNES reported.

In a statement to the nation, Pendarovski said this was necessary to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Prime Minister Oliver Spasovski called on parliament to declare a state of emergency because of the spread of COVID-19 at noon today.

Leaders of the main parties in North Macedonia agreed that elections would go ahead as planned on April 12 after meeting on Thursday in the office of the caretaker Prime Minister, Oliver Spasovski.

The announcement this week of the launch of flights between Belgrade and Pristina operated by Lufthansa caused much more attention than a regular announcement regarding the opening of a new airline route. Not surprising given that it took seeming mediation by US diplomats to facilitate the restoration of flights.

The European Union's top enlargement official on Wednesday held out new hope that the block will start accession talks within months with North Macedonia and Albania, whose bids were frustrated last year.

Bulgaria and Northern Macedonia must work together to create an environment of intolerance for corrupt practices. The interior ministers of the two seniors, Mladen Marinov and Oliver Spasovski, said this.

Consideration is also being given to creating a single number for both neighboring countries, to which citizens report corruption in state structures.

Bulgaria's Minister of Interior Valentin Radev participated in a quadripartite meeting between Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia and Albania, held in Thessaloniki on 5th of October. The main topics of the meeting were migration, countering terrorism and organized crime.
