Turkish weightlifters claim gold at European Championships
Turkish weightlifters Cansu Bektaş and Gamze Altun clinched gold medals in the women's 45-kilogram category on the first day of the European Weightlifting Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Bektaş lifted 75 kilograms in the snatch, securing Turkey's first gold medal of the championship. Meanwhile, Altun lifted 92 kilograms in the clean and jerk to claim her gold medal.

Bulgarian Olympic Champion in Weightlifting Found Dead
Former Olympic Weightlifting champion Milen Dobrev has been found dead in his home.
According to information released by local police, there have been no signs of violence on the body of the 35-year old athlete.
His parents have discovered the dead body as they went to his apartment Saturday.
