Russia's government has added the German Marshall Fund of the United States to its list of foreign entities whose activities are deemed "undesirable" in the country.

Russia's top investigative body on Dec. 23 declared Mikhail Khodorkovsky as arrested in absentia and issued an international arrest warrant, two years after the Kremlin critic and former oil tycoon was pardoned after serving 10 years in prison.

Armed police on April 16 raided the office of a Russian rights group led by the exiled critic of Vladimir Putin, Mikhail Khodorkovsky, during the president's marathon annual phone-in session.
