Türkiye 'neutralizes' nearly 200 PKK members after Ankara attack

Nearly 200 PKK members have been "neutralized" in airstrikes following a deadly terror attack in Ankara last week, defense sources said on Oct. 31.

According to sources, Turkish airstrikes targeted PKK targets in northern Iraq and Syria, hitting caves, shelters and warehouses used by high-ranking members.

Turkish strikes 'neutralize' 37 more PKK members

Turkish security forces have "neutralized" 37 PKK members in northern Iraq and northern Syria, the Defense Ministry said on Oct. 28, as part of intensified operations in response to a recent terror attack in Ankara.

"We are determined, resolute, capable of eradicating terrorism at its source," the ministry said on X.

Türkiye struck PKK targets in Syria and Iraq for a second day on Oct. 24 following an attack on the premises of a key defense company that killed at least five people.

The National Intelligence Organization (MİT) targeted "numerous strategic locations" used by PKK or those affiliated with the organization, state-run Anadolu Agency reported. 

Turkish intel 'neutralizes' senior PKK member

The National Intelligence Agency (MİT) has "neutralized" senior PKK member Lokman İsmail in northern Iraq, security sources confirmed on Sept. 30.

Turkish authorities use the term "neutralize" to indicate that the individuals in question have either surrendered, been killed or captured.

Local media said İsmail was the leader of the PKK's "self-defense units."

Turkish forces enhance winter precautions against PKK

Turkish security forces are ramping up preparations to prevent PKK from establishing winter bases in the mountainous regions near the country's borders, local media has reported.

The number of base areas has increased this year as part of enhanced precautionary measures, daily Milliyet reported on Sept. 16.

Turkish intelligence ‘neutralizes’ senior PKK terrorist in northern Iraq

Türkiye's National Intelligence Organization (MIT) "neutralized" a senior PKK/KCK terrorist in northern Iraq, security sources said on Friday.

Azad Akıncı, codenamed Adil Mardin, who responsible for the terror group's activities in the Makhmur camp, was "neutralized" in an operation conducted in Makhmur, northern Iraq.

The terrorist was sought by the MIT with a red notice.
