President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an has little love lost for Egypt?s Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, who he sees as a dictator that ousted the country?s democratically elected president in a military coup, and went on to stage-manage an election to give himself the appearance of being a democratic leader. Erdo?an is right, of course, because that is exactly what el-Sisi did. 

Siemens signs massive contract with Egypt for power generation

Siemens AG “went to town” on Wednesday by winning an eight-billion-euro order by Egypt to build gas and wind power plants in the country, called the biggest single order in the German multinational’s history.
The announcement came as Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi was on an official visit to Germany.

Egypt, Saudi mull joint exercise amid Yemen air war

Egypt and Saudi Arabia are considering holding joint military manoeuvres in the kingdom as the allies carry out air strikes in its neighbour Yemen, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's office said.
      
Other Gulf Arab countries would also participate, the Egyptian president's office said late Tuesday.
      

Arab leaders agree joint military force: Egypt's Sisi

Arab leaders have agreed to form a joint military force, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced on March 29 on the second day of a summit.
 
"The Arab leaders had decided to agree on the principle of a joint Arab military force," Sisi said in a speech at the summit held in the Egyptian resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh.

Egypt honours woman who dressed as man to work

An Egyptian woman who says she had to dress as a man to get work has been hailed as an "exemplary working mother" by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
      
Sisa Abu Daooh, 65, showed up on Sunday at the presidential palace to receive an award from Sisi and a cash prize of 50,000 pounds, wearing a male robe and turban, a day after Egypt marked Mother's Day.
      

Kerry talks Mideast peace with Abbas, leaders of Egypt, Jordan

US Secretary of State John Kerry held talks Friday with Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas and the leaders of Egypt and Jordan on the stalled Middle East peace process, officials said.
      
Kerry was attending an investment conference in Egypt's Red Sea resort town of Sharm El-Sheikh along with hundreds of prominent figures to jumpstart its economy.
      

Egypt's Sisi urges UN resolution for military intervention in Libya

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Feb. 17 urged the UN Security Council to adopt a resolution allowing for an international military intervention in troubled Libya.
      
"There is no other choice. Taking into account that the Libyan people must agree that we act to restore security and stability," Sisi said in an interview with French radio Europe 1.
