Top US diplomat Antony Blinken and defense chief Lloyd Austin spoke with their Ukrainian counterparts on Tuesday as Washington seeks to reassure its allies after a leaked trove of highly sensitive documents appeared online.

Upon his arrival, Plenkovic spoke with his Ukrainian colleague Denis Smihal, who called his visit a "strong message of support and solidarity".

"Let me first of all congratulate you on the heroism and immense resistance you have shown," Plenkovic said.

"We successfully occupied a hill, an elevation that was strategically important for that area. From that place, you can see the surroundings and all the access roads north of Bakhmut. We can see that those access roads can no longer be passed as the enemy would like," a member of "Wagner" group that performs a series of tasks in that direction told Sputnik.
