Spectacular Heist: USD 5 Million were Stolen from the Luggage Compartment of a Plane in 6 Minutes

Five million dollars in cash were stolen from the luggage compartment of a Lufthansa airplane that had to fly to Switzerland from an airport near the Brazilian city of San Paolo, France press quoted the local police.
 
The spectacular robbery was carried out on Sunday for six minutes by five men who invaded the runway, threatened security officers, stole the money and fled.

A group of thieves stole US$5 million in cash, which had been due to travel from Brazil to Switzerland aboard a Lufthansa jet, at a large freight airport near Sao Paulo, police said Monday.

The spectacular heist, which took place late Sunday, was completed in a matter of minutes, and authorities have yet to arrest a suspect.

London City Airport Closed After Second World War Bomb Found in the Thames

London City Airport has been closed following the discovery of a Second World War bomb in the River Thames at the nearby King George V Dock.

A 214-metre exclusion zone has been set up as a precaution by the Metropolitan Police, and roads in the area have been closed.

The bomb was found during routine work at the dock which runs alongside the airport's runway.

Man who swallowed more than 1kg of cocaine arrested at Athens airport

A 25-year-old man from Brazil has been arrested at Athens International Airport after an airport X-ray found more than 1kg of cocaine in his stomach wrapped in scores of small packets.

The man was stopped by officials on Sunday evening after landing on a flight from Rio de Janeiro via Zurich.
