Teens face legal action after pepper spray incident at Oropos school
A 13-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy are facing legal action after an incident involving pepper spray at a school in Oropos, in Attica.
On November 8, the girl showed her classmate the pepper spray and used it, spraying it into the air. The boy, unaware of the potential dangers, then took the canister and continued spraying it.

Oropos: A 6-year-old boy was injured in an amusement park
Another incident of injury, this time without casualties, took place at an amusement park in Oropos, where a six-year-old child was injured on a trampoline.
Inspectors condemn 40 homes for demolition following Attica wildfires
Inspectors have condemned 40 homes for demolition and declared another 64 temporarily unfit for use, following last week's fires in northeastern Attica which burned about 10,000 hectares of land.
The inspections were carried out in the municipalities of Dionysos, Halandri, Marathon, Pallini, Penteli, Rafina-Pikermi, and Oropos and Vrilissia.
Compensation platform expected to open next week
The platform where people who incurred damages from this week's Attica wildfire can apply for compensation will open on August 21, according to Deputy Civil Protection Minister Christos Triandopoulos. Inspections in the affected municipalities are ongoing, with 130 having been conducted by Thursday.

Land burnt equivalent to 2.5% of Attica area

Fire-affected municipalities to receive emergency funding of 4.7 mln euros
The Interior Ministry has allocated emergency funding to eight municipalities in Attica affected by recent wildfires.
The total amount of 4.7 million euros was agreed upon after discussions between the interior and finance ministries, the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece, and the mayors of northeastern Attica.
Woman dies after being hit by truck near fire front
A 58-year-old woman died in the early hours of Monday in eastern Attica after she was hit by a truck that was rushing to assist in the firefighting effort in the area.
The incident occurred in the center of the village of Kapandriti, which the woman, accompanied by her three-year-old niece, was attempting to drive through amid a traffic jam of cars and fire tenders.
Elderly woman arrested for arson in eastern Attica
An elderly woman was arrested on Saturday for allegedly setting fires in dry grass near Oropos, eastern Attica.
The woman is accused of intentionally setting two separate fires on Tuesday and Saturday and has been fined 5,413.50 euros.

Four elderly people die in separate sea incidents
Four elderly people have died in separate swimming incidents across the country, the coast guard reported.
In the northern Aegean island of Thassos, an 86-year-old man was found unconscious on Platanas Beach and later pronounced dead at a nearby health center.
A 71-year-old man was found in Agkona, Oropos, East Attica, and declared dead at Skala Oropos Clinic.
