Al-Qaida in Yemen confirms death of leader in U.S. strike
Al-Qaida confirmed that powerful Yemeni leader Nasir al-Wuhayshi has been killed in a U.S. drone strike against the group. The death was confirmed via a video statement posted online early Tuesday. The message by al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula said that the leader “was killed in a U.S. drone attack that targeted him along with two other mujahedeen.”

Al-Qaeda in Yemen claims attack on France's Charlie Hebdo
Al-Qaeda in Yemen has claimed responsibility for the attack on Charlie Hebdo in a video posted online, saying it was "vengeance" for the French weekly's cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed.
Nasser al-Ansi, one of the chiefs of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), said the attack was ordered by Ayman al-Zawahiri, the jihadist network's global commander.
