A grumpy Tom Hanks stars in ‘A Man Called Otto’
Sentimental tales about grumpy old men and American decline have, until recently, typically been the domain of Clint Eastwood.
But in "A Man Called Otto," Marc Forster's adaptation of Fredrik Backman's bestseller and a remake of the 2016 Swedish film "A Man Called Ove," it's Tom Hanks prowling the neighborhood and irritably grumbling about how things used to be.

Otto Warmbier dies after a week in US
The US student held in captivity for more than 15 months in North Korea has died a week after returning home.
Otto Warmbier, 22, was serving 15 years of hard labour for attempting to steal a propaganda sign from a hotel.
He was sent back to the US last Tuesday on humanitarian grounds – it emerged he had been in a coma for a year.

US man Otto Warmbier released from North Korea in coma after 17-month detention
University of Virginia student Otto Warmbier has been medically evacuated from North Korea in a coma after being detained for 17 months, his parents confrmed on Tuesday.
Mr Warmbier, 22, is due to arrive home in Cincinnati on Tuesday evening, after a stop at a US military facility near Sapporo, Japan.
Daimler to supply self-driving cars for Uber
German auto giant Daimler on Jan. 31 said it had struck a partnership with Uber to supply self-driving cars for the U.S. ride-hailing company.
The tie-up comes as both carmakers and ridesharing firms are jockeying to establish themselves as leading players in the burgeoning world of autonomous driving, seen as the future of the auto industry.

German architect Frei Otto wins Pritzker a day before dying
German architect Frei Otto was named as winner of the prestigious Pritzker Prize on March 10, a day after his death at the age of 89, organizers of architecture's top honor said.
Otto, renowned for designs which incorporated lightweight tent-like structures, had been informed he had won the accolade shortly before his death, a statement said.
