Enormous Asteroid to Fly Pass Earth. For Now There is no Danger of a Collision

An enormous asteroid will make a close approach to Earth today. The asteroid, dubbed 52768 (1998 OR2), was identified by NASA as "particularly dangerous". The asteroid is not new to humanity. It was discovered in 1998 and passed the Earth in 2009, but at a distance of about 27 million km, moving at a speed of about 12 km / sec, Nova TV recalls.

Europe and NASA's Solar Orbiter rocketed into space on Feb. 9 night on an unprecedented mission to capture the first pictures of the sun's elusive poles.

"We're on the way to the sun. Go Solar Orbiter!" said Cesar Garcia Marirrodriga, project manager for the European Space Agency. "It's a fantastic moment ... it's like, well, we're unstoppable."

Record-breaking US astronaut returns to Earth   

NASA's Christina Koch returned to Earth safely Feb. 6 having shattered the spaceflight record for female astronauts after almost a year aboard the International Space Station.

Koch touched down at 0912 GMT on the Kazakh steppe after 328 days in space along with Luca Parmitano of the European Space Agency and Alexander Skvortsov of the Russian space agency.

NASA: A Potentially Dangerous Asteroid is Approaching the Earth

A potentially dangerous asteroid with a diameter of 440 to 990 meters is approaching Earth, according to NASA's website.

According to the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), a celestial body with the number 163373 will approach the Earth at a minimum distance of February 15.

SpaceX Successfully Launched a Rocket with 60 Starlink Satellites

SpaceX's Falcon-9 rocket launches 60 micro-satellites from the Starlink system into orbit, according to global agencies.

The launch was from the Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.

The satellites are designed to provide high-speed internet and are positioned in orbit at an altitude of 290 km.
