21 years have gone by
Hundreds of thousands of people from all over Serbia protested against the non-recognition of the results of the presidential elections by the then regime.
It is 21 years since the mass demonstrations of the citizens of Serbia that led to the departure from power of the President of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Slobodan Milosevic.

Almost two decades seem to have eaten all the ties that the October 5th spirit has barely held on to, in recent years. The day before this year's October 5th, there were no announcements, no reminders, not even statements by the former main actors of Milosevic's downfall.

Montenegrin activist burns NATO flag before going to jail
Marko Milacic, who heads the Resistance to Hopelessness ("Otpor Beznadju") Movement, has set a NATO flag on fire.
He did this in front of the Spuz prison in Podgorica, where he showed up on Monday to start serving his 20-day sentence.

Socialists deny they might team up with opposition
SPS official Djordje Milicevic on Monday denied that his party is considering "any kind of cooperation" with what he referred to as "the new DOS."
The Democratic Opposition of Serbia (DOS) was a coalition of 19 parties that in 2000 ousted Slobodan Milosevic and his Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) from power.
