In 1902, Hungarian artist Tivadar Kostka Csontvary created a painting called ‘Old Fisherman’. Nothing unusual so far. But if you place a mirror smack down the middle of the painting the nice old fisherman’s expression changes to a terrifying devil. The optical illusion is eerie.

Int'l painting festival starts in Trabzon with female artists from 20 countries
The eighth International Painting Festival has begun in the Black Sea province of Trabzon with the participation of 40 female artists from 20 different countries under the auspices of Femin&Art, a female artist collective.

Cezanne painting seized in Yalova
A painting, believed to be the famous 19th century French artist Paul Cezanne's 'Young Italian Woman at a Table,' has been seized in Turkey's northwestern province of Yalova.
Three people were caught allegedly trying to sell the painting, which has an estimated value of $150-200 million.
The originality of the seized painting will be examined by experts.

Spray paint on ancient rocks elicits reaction
A group of travelers who spray-painted their names on rocks in the vicinity of 8,000-year-old paintings on Be?parmak (Latmos) mountain near Lake Bafa have aroused anger from archaeologists and historians over the damage to the ancient site.
