#SprayForParis: Unique graffitis for the victims of Paris attacks

Graffiti artists in France and all over the world responded to the terrorist attacks on Paris by creating artworks with their spray cans to show their solidarity.

They have been painting walls and public spaces in French and all over the world using the colours of France, blue, white and red, sharing their works in social media under #SprayForParis.

In 1902, Hungarian artist Tivadar Kostka Csontvary created a painting called ‘Old Fisherman’. Nothing unusual so far. But if you place a mirror smack down the middle of the painting the nice old fisherman’s expression changes to a terrifying devil. The optical illusion is eerie.

Artists using Istanbul's walls as their canvas

If you are living in Istanbul, or you have somehow happened to visit this beautiful historical city, you now have the chance of seeing some giant paintings made by mural artists from across the world.

The aim is to enliven some of the more subdued areas of Istanbul, replacing grey walls with enormous pictures, each telling a different story.

Cezanne painting seized in Yalova

A painting, believed to be the famous 19th century French artist Paul Cezanne's 'Young Italian Woman at a Table,' has been seized in Turkey's northwestern province of Yalova.

Three people were caught allegedly trying to sell the painting, which has an estimated value of $150-200 million.

The originality of the seized painting will be examined by experts.
