North Macedonia's Transport Minister, Aleksandar Nikoloski, has indicated that the current Corridor 8 railway project "will certainly not be worked on," and the potential for a new project remains uncertain. In a statement to Telma TV, he emphasized that discussions with Bulgaria commenced recently in Brussels, and a follow-up meeting is scheduled for October 31.

Aleksandar Nikoloski, the Minister of Transport of North Macedonia, announced that he expects to meet with Bulgarian representatives to discuss a new joint railway project that would connect the two countries. The railway, which is part of Corridor No. 8, would link Skopje with Sofia and extend to the Black Sea.

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Friday Serbia was hoping to open a train factory with China and noted that some locations had already been offered to Chinese partners.

Vucic was speaking to reporters in Zemun at the unveiling of a new Chinese-made high-speed train.

The European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Union announced on Tuesday a 560 million euro ($613.87 million) financing package for North Macedonia to build a railway line to neighboring Bulgaria.

The total length of the section of the regional road (IIA, 147) from Smederevska Palanka to Velika Plana is 13.5 kilometers long, 9.83 kilometers of which were reconstructed and a new bridge over the Gubera stream was built. The scope of the work is such that, although it is a reconstruction, a whole new road has been made.
