Palermo: Two Bodies Found from the Shipwreck – Search Continues
Developments in the Shipwreck Case off Palermo:
According to Reuters, two bodies were discovered by Italian coast guard authorities within the ship that had sunk and was lying 50 meters deep on the sea floor. The bodies have not yet been identified, and it remains to be determined which of the missing persons they belong to.

A Town in Sicily Offers Free Houses
A small town on the Italian island of Sicily is offering free homes in an effort to attract new residents, BTA reports.
The Chamber's administration, about 90 kilometres from Sicily's capital, Palermo, wants to combat the dwindling population and the tendency of young people to leave the city.
"Our magnificent, ancient city is turning into ruins," says the Mayor of the town.

Turkish university student in Italian jail for 19 months after drug ship raid
A Turkish university student who was an intern on a Turkish-flagged cargo ship off Italy has been in jail for 19 months after police raided the ship and seized tons of drugs last year, daily Sabah reported on Oct. 12.
