SYRIZA leader Stefanos Kasselakis on Wednesday marked the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, a UN-organized observance, emphasizing the urgency of addressing the ongoing crisis in the Mideast region. 

Delegations from European Union member states and Middle Eastern and north African countries are meeting yesterday in Barcelona, Spain, to discuss the crisis in Gaza, where a fragile pause in fighting is set to expire.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also attended in meeting.

There will be no peace in the Middle East without the establishment of an independent State of Palestine, the Turkish parliament speaker has said, calling on the international community to take action to this end amid the ongoing Israeli offensive against the civilians in Gaza.

Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis will visit Ramallah on Thursday, where he will meet with Palestinian Authority Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki and Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Staiyeh.

In a significant diplomatic development, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has called for the establishment of a unified Palestinian-led government in Gaza and the West Bank following the cessation of hostilities, marking a crucial step towards Palestinian statehood.

World powers meet in Paris on Thursday to coordinate aid and help for the wounded in the Palestinian enclave of Gaza, with the possible creation of a maritime corridor, naval medical facilities and field hospitals to be considered, European diplomats said.

A concert and rally commenced on Sunday around noon in support of the Palestinian people in Syntagma Square, Athens. The Palestinian Ambassador to Greece, Yussef Dorkhom greeted the crowds and participating artists.

"Palestine, Gaza and the Palestinian people thank you for your solidarity and humanity," said Dorkhom to the people gathered in the Syntagma.

Greece is working with the United Nations and other countries to send humanitarian aid to Gaza as soon as possible and ensure it reaches those who need it most, Health Minister Michalis Chrysochoidis told Parliament on Thursday, in a session attended by Palestinian Authority Ambassador Yussef Dorkhom.

Turkish and Iranian top diplomats urged that the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas can spread to the other parts of the region as armed non-state actors may no longer be controlled if Israel's atrocities against the civilians are not stopped.

İYİ (Good) Party leader Meral Akşener has criticized the perception of militant group Hamas as "the representative of Palestine's rightful resistance," arguing that such a view indirectly benefits Israel.
