A teacher who hit the road on her motorcycle on June 24 with the goal of becoming the first Turkish woman to travel around the world solo has reached Tajikistan on the 29th day of her adventurous journey.

Originating in the Pamir Mountains of the Turkic homeland in Central Asia before spreading to Anatolia and worldwide, tulips continue to be a defining theme for spring events in Turkey. 

It’s not Central Asia, but there is a taste of the Tian Shan Mountains in the eastern province of Van, which is home to a village of transplanted Kyrgyz, Ulupınar.
