Turkish Nobel laureate says charges of insulting president aimed at silencing dissent
Turkey is using the charge of insulting President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an to intimidate his opponents and silence dissent and European leaders must take a tougher line with Ankara on free speech, Nobel prize-winning author Orhan Pamuk said on May 3.
Turkish books available in dozens of languages
Some 1,124 books of Turkish literature have been translated into 60 languages in 65 countries as part of a project that was first launched 11 years ago, the Culture and Tourism Ministry has said.

Orhan Pamuk Museum of Innocence opens in London
The famous writer, Orhan Pamuk , is the world’s first writer to create a novel and a museum about his work as well as to have a documentary made about his project.
Pamuk came up with the idea in 1990s to write a novel and to make a museum at the same time.

Turkish author Günday receives French award
One of the world's most prestigious literary awards, France's Le Prix Medicis Etranger, was presented to Turkish author Hakan Günday for his novel "Daha," which is about immigrants. The award is presented each year to the best foreign novel in France.

Accepting the Nobel Prize with a Turkish accent
"Ay vud layk to tank di Nobel komiti?"
Oh, I'm kidding. Both our Nobel laureates Aziz Sancar (2015) and Orhan Pamuk (2006) are fluent English speakers. But as a Turkish person with ears used to the accent, I can pick up the Turkish stress in their spoken English - a nuance I like very much.

Orhan Pamuk's museum to go to London for show next year
Exhibits from the Museum of Innocence, the award-winning Istanbul museum created by the Nobel Prize-winning novelist Orhan Pamuk in 2012, will go on show early next year at the Somerset House in London as part of a special display, the Art Newspaper has reported.
