Athletics: Alina Rotaru takes podium in long jump event in Nairobi
Romanian athlete Alina Rotary Kottmann came in third in the long jump event on Saturday in Kip Keino Classic, carried out in Naironbi, Kenya, the last stage of the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold. Rotaru jumped 6.5 metres in the last attempt, after her best attempt had been 6.34 m.

The Romanian athlete Catalin Tecuceanu on Tuesday won the 800 m race in the Zagreb competition, the "Boris Hanzekovic" Memorial, a stage of the World Athletics Continental Tour 2021, with a new national record, 1 min 44 sec 93/100. The old record dates from April 9, 1985 and belonged to Petre Dragoescu, timed in Kobe (Japan) in 1 min 45 sec 41/100.

Petromidia Refinery Explosion/Missing employee found dead
The missing employee following the blast at Petromidia Refinery was found dead, Constanta County Prefect announced on Friday. The Dobrogea Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) had announced that six victims resulted in the blast, one of whom was missing. According to ISU Dobrogea spokesperson Anamaria Stocia, the victims were aged between 30 and 50.
Motion of no-confidence, defeated (official)
A motion of no-confidence tabled by the opposition Social Democratic Party (PSD) and called "Failed Romania: The 'fabulous' record of the Citu government" was defeated on Tuesday at a joint plenary sitting of Parliament.
