The State Audit Council gave the green light on Wednesday for the Attica Regional Authority to provide 7 million euros for the improvement of Panathinaikos soccer club?s grounds on Alexandras Avenue in central Athens.

Greens succumb to first loss at Bayern

Panathinaikoss unbeaten run in all competitions came an end on Thursday as the Greek champion lost 81-75 at Bayern Munich for the Euroleague.
Bayern is a team that improves every year, and is now a genuine contender for a spot in the top 16 of the competition, that Panathinaikos will also have to work hard to secure this year.

Court rules PAO shouldn't get 7 mln euros for stadium revamp
The Court of Audit ruled on Tuesday that Panathinaikos soccer club should not receive 7 million euros from the Attica Regional Authority to improve its stadium at Alexandras Avenue in central Athens.
The court found that the transaction, approved by the previous Attica Governor Yiannis Sgouros, was not in the public interest.
Arsonists attack Panathinaikos fan club in Athens on opening day of season
Nine people were detained on Sunday after a Panathinaikos supporters club in southeastern Athens was attacked.
Assailants threw Molotov cocktails at the building on Vouliagmenis Avenue in Dafni. Nobody was injured.
The attack took place a few hours before Panathinaikos played its opening game in the new Super League soccer season, drawing 0-0 with Levadiakos.
Panathinaikos out of Champions League after Standard Liege loss at home
Panathinaikos was knocked out of the Champions League on Tuesday after being beaten 2-1 at home by Belgian side Standard Liege.
The first leg in Belgium had ended 0-0 and Panathinaikos got off to a great start in Athens when Dino Arslanagic scored an own goal in the 10th minute.
Goalless draw at Liege puts Greens in driving seat

Panathinaikos got the upper hand in the battle for entry to the Champions League playoffs after snatching a goalless draw at Standard Liege on Wednesday.
If anything, the Greek cup holders missed a great chance to score an away win that would have seen them all but through to the last stage before the Champions League groups.
